Located at the Heart of Bangkok, PGVIM is a leading Music Conservatoire with a mission to develop the standard of music making in Thailand and Southeast Asia. Providing a vibrant platform for students, professional performers, composers and researchers, the institute promotes music as a tool for progress and harmony.
The Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music in Thailand is a unique Conservatoire with a contemporary approach to music making. This Royal project was initiated in 2007 on the occasion of the 84th birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra who graciously gave her name to the new endeavour. The Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music is now also known as “PGVIM”.
Following Her Royal vision to educate new audiences as well as develop an international standard for Thai musicians, the institute created its own Youth Orchestra, Community Choir, Education Populaire and Audience Development Projects. The institute provides a platform for students, musicians, professionals and music enthusiasts to exchange their knowledge, engage in musical dialogues and collectively share their love of music.
The Institute aims at becoming a leading international conservatory of music with the mission to develop young local talents. Our creatively designed curriculum provides students with new innovative methods for developing their musical skills while acquiring a deeper understanding of the role of music as a tool for the progress and harmony of society.
