Admission Requirements

1. Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPAX) for 4 semesters must be no less than 2.00

2. Must have completed or be expected to complete Mathayom 6 (Grade 12) or equivalent

3. For those with US High School Equivalency Diploma (GED):

• Must score at least 145 points in each subject area
• Must have a total combined score of no less than 640 points

4. Must not have any medical conditions that could impede study

5. Must meet all qualifications as specified in the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music's regulations

6. Must demonstrate musical ability in:

• Performance proficiency in major instrument
• Knowledge and understanding of music theory
• Knowledge of Western music history
• Appropriate level of aural skills

7. Must show:

• Enthusiasm for music education
• Interest in current developments in the music world
• Understanding of music's role in Thai, ASEAN, and international societies

In accordance with Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra's aspirations for the development of classical music in Thailand, the Bachelor of Music program at Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music aims to produce musicians of excellence with creative mindsets. The program focuses on developing professionals capable of continuous self-development through knowledge acquisition, who recognize music's role in human potential development. Furthermore, graduates are equipped to integrate musical knowledge with other related disciplines for social creativity and development.

1. General Education Courses (minimum 24 credits)

• Humanities: 4-6 credits
• Social Sciences: 4-6 credits
• Languages: 8 credits
• Science and Mathematics: 4-6 credits

2. Specialized Courses (minimum 86 credits)

• Performance Practice: 48 credits
• Music Theory and Contextual Studies: 38 credits

Graduates will have the potential for research, investigation, and creation of new knowledge, as well as the ability to integrate knowledge to create valuable innovative musical arts that align with the context of current changes in knowledge. They will be able to apply music in an integrated manner to create and develop communities, society, and the nation, while also using integrated musical knowledge to advance the field of music in the future.

This curriculum focuses on developing students in terms of knowledge, research, and innovative musical creation. It aims to produce graduates with expertise and deep understanding in integrated music, who can apply their knowledge in alignment with changing social, cultural, economic, and technological contexts to their full potential. The program encourages students to develop into leaders who can sustainably benefit society and the nation through the discipline of integrated music.

Course Objectives

1.) To produce graduates with knowledge and expertise in integrated music who have the potential for research and open-minded creativity in integrated music, possess skills for continuous self-development, and can apply their knowledge to changing social, cultural, economic, and technological contexts, as well as integrate knowledge to create innovative music that sustainably benefits society and the nation.

2.) To produce research, creative works, innovations, or new knowledge in music, and to promote the integration of musical knowledge with related disciplines.

3.) To create a space for academic exchange in the field of integrated music, covering various dimensions of musical creativity, both at the national and international levels.
