Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music is committed to advancing the classical music scene in Thailand. Beyond producing graduates with musical excellence, the institute upholds its mission of academic service and cultural preservation to contribute to societal development.
Situated near Rama VIII Park, a public space in Bangkok, the institute initiated the Music in the Park [ PGVIM POP-UP!] project to enhance the quality of life by offering the public an opportunity to relax and appreciate music. This initiative fosters emotional well-being and transforms Rama VIII Park into a space of joy. The core principle of the project is to create an accessible and inclusive musical environment, free from financial or spatial constraints, ensuring that people from all walks of life can enjoy the experience.
This project also provides students, faculty, and staff with opportunities to develop essential 21st-century skills, including creativity, communication, and collaboration, through performances in diverse settings. At the same time, it promotes lifelong learning by cultivating musical appreciation across all age groups, enhancing physical and mental well-being through music in a natural setting, and enriching cultural diversity by presenting a wide range of musical styles.
